Car Insurance Mitsubishi (Car Insurance). How much PSI do i need in a pressure washer to wash a black vehicle? How much PSI do i need in a pressure washer to wash a black vehicle? bought a cheap electric canadian tire one but it just leaves streaks. I guess I need one as high as the touchless carwashes out there. Anyone know what PSI most of these run at? Use a sponge and bucket, a chamois leather for drying it, and a good quality wax. The streaks are nothing to do with the pressure washer or PSI, they are water marks from the impurities in the water being left behind as it evaporates. Most car washes run at 1,250psi and about 5gpm flow rate, you can get a pressure washer that has that psi but getting one with that flow rate is the trick, good luck the highest I can find is about 2.6gpm at that pressure for a homeowner. PSI won't do it. Any pressure washer less than 3000 psi is pretty much worthless for cleaning a car engine. You should never use a pressure washer on a vehicle. Where did you learn to ruin paint like that? Generally, these pressure washers are rated under 1500 psi pressure. Auto parts : Rocker Arm Stud Acura 1995 . Timing Control Alfa Romeo 1996 . Mitsubishi . How to Increase Horsepower on a 4RunnerThough the Toyota 4Runner is a very good truck in stock specification, there will always be those owners who want more from them, particularly more power. Fortunately for 4Runner owners, there are multiple options available when it comes to increasing the horsepower. You can keep the costs to a minimum by purchasing a cold air intake or invest heavily with the installation of a supercharger conversion. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Socket set and ratchet Specialty automotive tools Step by Step : 1 Install a larger diameter exhaust. No matter what the make and model, almost all stock exhaust systems leave something to be desired when it comes to efficient air flow. Replacing the stock 4Runner exhaust with one made from larger diameter tubing and then matched to a free-flow muffler will get spent exhaust gasses out of the motor more quickly and efficiently, which is a good thing for power. An exhaust usually requires a lift as well as special cutting and welding tools to install it properly and should be done by a shop experienced in this type of installation. 2 Replace the stock air box with a performance-oriented cold air intake (CAI). In stock form, the 4Runner’s air box restricts the flow of incoming air, which is not good for power. Swapping the air box for the CAI’s larger diameter tubing and large, cone filter will deliver more cold, dense air to the intake side of the engine for more power, better throttle response and a deeper sound from the intake. To install a CAI, first unbolt the air box from where it is bolted to the engine bay and disconnect it from the intake on the engine. Install the CAI in its place, ensuring that the filter is positioned away from the heat of the engine and where it will get lots of cold air. 3 Convert the engine to forced induction, which utilizes a compressor mounted on the intake (supercharging) or the exhaust (turbocharging). For the 4Runner, the most common method of forced induction is supercharging, since this is a technique that Toyota has used to great effect on the 4Runner. You can use the company's kit or install one of the many supercharger kits available on the aftermarket. This conversion should be done by a shop familiar with forced induction for proper results.
Mitsubishi . How to Replace an Auto ExhaustA faulty auto exhaust cannot only be loud and annoying, but it can be bad for the environment. The exhaust on your vehicle is designed to reduce noise as well as limit the toxic emissions that are released into the atmosphere. Replacing your vehicle's exhaust as soon as possible can help both your eardrums and your lungs. There are several different components to the exhaust system, but only the most common of those will be focused on. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Basic mechanic tool kit Rust penetration chemical (PB Blaster) Automotive repair manual (Haynes or Chilton's)Replacing the Exhaust Manifold Step by Step : 1 Remove the two or three bolts connecting the manifold to the down pipe and separate the two. 2 Remove the bolts holding the manifold to the engine block; there should be four to eight bolts, depending on your vehicle. 3 Remove the exhaust manifold from the engine compartment, making certain that the gasket comes off with it. 4 Place the new gasket on the exhaust manifold studs on the block and place the new manifold on the studs. Tighten the manifold nuts just tight enough to keep the manifold in place. 5 Place a new gasket between the down pipe and the new manifold to ensure a good seal. Install the bolts and tighten them down to manufacturer specifications listed in your repair manual. 6 Tighten the manifold nuts down to manufacturer specifications listed in your repair manual. 7 Start the vehicle and check for any leaks. Replacing the Down Pipe Step by Step : 1 Remove the two or three bolts that hold the down pipe to the exhaust manifold. 2 Jack up the vehicle and secure it with jack stands. 3 Disconnect the exhaust from any rubber hangers under the vehicle. 4 Remove the two or three bolts that hold the down pipe to the catalytic converter. Remove the down pipe from the underside of the vehicle. 5 Put the new down pipe in place by hanging it on the existing rubber hangers. 6 Place a new gasket on the studs that come from the catalytic converter and secure the new pipe on the studs with the nuts. Torque the nuts to the manufacturer specifications listed in your repair manual. 7 Jack up the vehicle, remove the jack stands, and lower the vehicle to the ground. Place a new gasket on the down pipe where it connects to the exhaust manifold. 8 Place the manifold studs through the down pipe and secure it with the bolts. Torque the manifold bolts to manufacturer specifications listed in your repair manual. Start the vehicle and check for any leaks. Replacing the Catalytic Converter Step by Step : 1 Jack up the vehicle and secure it with jack stands. 2 Remove the two or three nuts holding the catalytic converter to the front pipe. 3 Remove the two or three nuts holding the catalytic converter to the rear bolts and remove the catalytic converter. 4 Place new gaskets on the front and rear studs on the new catalytic converter and place the studs through the holes in the front and rear pipes. 5 Secure the catalytic converter with the nuts and torque the nuts down to manufacturer specifications listed in your repair manual. 6 Jack up the vehicle, remove the jack stands, and lower the vehicle to the ground. Start the vehicle and check for leaks. Replacing the Muffler Step by Step : 1 Jack up the rear of the vehicle and secure it with jack stands. 2 Remove the two or three nuts that hold the muffler to the rest of the exhaust system. 3 Remove the muffler from the vehicle by pulling it out of the rubber hangers and pulling it away from the rest of the exhaust. 4 Place a new gasket on the muffler studs and run the bolts through the holes on the rear exhaust pipe. Secure the muffler with the nuts. 5 Place muffler back into the rubber hangers under the vehicle and tighten the nuts to manufacturer specifications listed in your repair manual. 6 Jack up the vehicle, remove the jack stands, and lower the vehicle to the ground. Start the vehicle to check for leaks. Tips & Warnings Use a rust-penetrating chemical to prevent breaking rusty bolts. Always use a new gasket. Replace the exhaust hangers if they are torn or worn out. Always wait for your vehicle to cool down before starting work. *If your car starts to overheat, park safely and open the hood without shutting off the engine. Make sure that the car is in Park with the parking brake on. Then take a look at the bottom hose (be careful not to get your hair or clothing caught in the fan or the fan belt) and see whether the hose has collapsed. If it has, replace it. You can find instructions for replacing hoses later in this chapter. v* Low oil level: If you still can't find the cause of overheating, check your oil dipstick. A vehicle that's low on oil tends to overheat because the oil removes from 75 to 80 percent of the "waste heat" in your engine (in addition to doing its other job of cushioning the moving engine parts). If you're 1 quart low in oil and your vehicle holds 5 quarts, the oil can carry away 20 percent less heat (the oil cools off in the crankcase). See Chapter 3 for instructions on checking the oil level and adding oil. Under normal circumstances, you can prevent overheating by checking the level of liquid in the system and maintaining it properly. The next sections tell you how to do so. Part III: Keeping Your Car in Good Condition, System by System Checking and Adding Liquid to Hour Cooling System One of the quickest, easiest, and least expensive tasks you can perform to keep your cooling system cool is to check the fluid level in the system and add water and coolant, if necessary. Before you attempt to do anything to your cooling system, be aware of two important safety rules: 671

Never add cold water to a hot engine! a pressure cap safety Before you can do anything involving your cooling system, you need to know how to remove the pressure cap safely. There's almost no reason to remove the pressure cap from the radiator or coolant recovery system reservoir while the engine is still warm. Because it's hard to tell just how hot things are inside the engine, follow these guidelines when removing a pressure cap: Never remove the cap from a radiator or reservoir when the engine is hot. If your car overheats on the freeway, get to the side of the road, shut off the engine, and then wait 15 to 20 minutes for things to cool down. You can lift the hood to help the heat escape, but leave the pressure cap alone. Because adding cold water to a hot engine is automotive suicide, you have no reason to get the cap off until the engine cools down. Keep your cool until your car Mitsubishi . Lincoln MKT. * regains its own! Chapter 21 has more tips about overheating on the road. To open the pressure cap safely, follow these steps: 1. If your car has a safety pressure cap, lift the lever on the safety cap to allow the pressure to escape; then turn the cap counterclockwise to remove it. •c* To keep from burning your hand, place a cloth over the cap after you raise the lever (see Figure 14-1). If your car doesn 't have a safety cap, place a cloth over the cap and turn it counterclockwise to its first stop. Turning to the first stop allows some of the pressure to escape, but if you see liquid or a great deal of steam escaping, retighten the cap and wait for things to cool down. If not, continue turning the cap counterclockwise to remove it. Mitsubishi . A 1000 kg car and a 2000 kg car are hoisted the same distance in a gas station Raising the more massive car requires?

Tilt the cap as you remove it so that the opening points away from you (and anyone else nearby) — again, see Figure 14-1. This way, if there's still enough heat and pressure to spray hot stuff around, it lands on the engine or inside the hood, where it can do no harm. Be particularly sure to follow this procedure if you don't have a safety cap. Of course, if the engine is completely cold, you face no risk at all, so try to do routine peeking into your radiator in the morning before you warm up the car. Get into the habit of checking your coolant level at least once a month (as part of the under-the-hood check in Chapter 3).
